Sophomore baseball players plan to continue education

Three more Polk State sophomore baseball players have committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers this fall at four-year universities.

Kyle Jackson will attend Elon University, Keith Oren plans to go to Creighton University, and Jose Pupo will head to FAMU.

In his five years at Polk State, Head Coach Al Corbeil has seen more than 50 players move on to four-year schools.

"It's rewarding for our coaching staff to see our players excel on the field and in the classroom, and to receive great opportunities to continue be student-athletes," said Corbeil.

"We are looking forward to watching them continue their success at the four- year level."

Other sophomores moving on are Jordan Barrett (Elon), Cody Gamble (Liberty University), Brad Labozetta (University of South Florida), David Lara (Florida International University), Cole Ondrejka (Flagler College), JD Osborne (University of Tampa), Luke Parker (High Point University), and Matt Piatt (University of Tampa).
