Eagles down St. Pete 12-6 in 10 innings

Polk State started Suncoast Conference play last night with a 12-6 win in 10 innings at St. Petersburg College. 

Skylar Frey went 3-for-5, with a triple, a walk, three runs, and three RBI. 

Zach Diewert homered, walked twice, scored twice, and drove in a run. 

Isaiah Cullum had a single, a sacrifice fly, a walk, a run, and two RBI. 

Zach Biermann singled, drove in a run, and scored twice. 

Marquis Orozco went 3-for-4 with a double and a run. 

Cole Warken singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run. 

Zach Scott went 2-for-6 with two RBI. 

Raudy Martinez had a run and an RBI. 

Jonah Garrison collected a walk, a sacrifice, and a run scored. 

Zach Schneider (3-0) earned the win in relief. In two and two-thirds of an inning he gave up no runs and two hits, walking one and striking out three. 

Jordan Spicer started on the mound. In five innings he allowed five runs (two unearned) on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts. 

Luis Ferrer and Justin Gill also worked in relief. 

The Eagles (17-5, 1-0, No. 3 FCSAA, No. 11 NJCAA) play St. Petersburg again Friday at 5 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard.
