Polk State won its second straight game tonight, beating Combine Academy 95-66 in Winter Haven.

The Eagles had a 45-26 halftime lead.

"I thought we really did a good job in the first half. We held them to 26 points," said Head Coach Matt Furjanic.

"One of the things we told the guys in the second half was that we wanted to make sure we kept up the defensive intensity, and I was a little disappointed we didn't. We let them score 40 points, and we made some bad mistakes in the second half.

"Hopefully we can get in the right frame of mind and get ready for the last four conference games."

Troy Simons led the Eagles with 28 points.

Also scoring in double figures were Kevin Hamlet (17), Charles Humphries (13), Kadeem Webb (12), and Stefan Nakic (11).

The Eagles (7-19, 2-5) travel to Tampa on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. game against Hillsborough Community College.
