Troy Simons of Polk State has been named to the 2017 NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

This is the first time a Polk State player has received an invitation to the game, which takes place April 29 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

"I am very excited for Troy and our basketball program," said Head Coach Matt Furjanic.

"Troy had a terrific two years for us, and it is exciting to see him and our basketball program being rewarded nationally."

A sophomore guard from Pittsburgh, Simons led the NJCAA D1 in points-per-game this season with 26.3.

In 26 games he scored 685 points, shooting 46 percent from the field and 76.1 percent from the free-throw line.

He earned a spot on the FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII All-State Team and First Team All-Suncoast Conference.
