Consecutive shutouts give Eagles sweep of South Florida

Lauren West and Taylor Baker pitched back-to-back shutouts tonight as Polk State beat South Florida State College 3-0 and 4-0 in Avon Park. 

In game one, West pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits while striking out three. She improved to 13-9. 

Shelisa Oliver went two-for-four with a run scored. 

Erica Morrissey singled twice in three at-bats. 

Baker had a single and an RBI. 

Kassidy Kennard went two-for-two with an RBI. 

In the second game, Baker (6-3) also hurled a complete game. She gave up only two hits and had four strikeouts. 

She helped her cause at the plate, going two-for-three with a home run and two RBI. 

Amber Butler also homered and had an RBI. 

Harlee Rimes had a two-for-four game. 

Morrissey doubled and drove in a run. 

The Eagles (25-17, 9-5, No. 10 FCSAA) play Hillsborough Community College at Plant City Stadium on April 7 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
