Polk State's Kacie Booth today signed a letter of intent to play softball and continue her academic career at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
A sophomore from Plant City, Booth started at shortstop for the Eagles as a freshman in the 2015 season, when she hit .320 with four home runs and led the team with 40 RBI.
She was named to the First Team All-Conference and helped lead the Eagles to second place in the Suncoast Conference and a spot in the state softball tournament.
"I am really proud of Kacie," said Head Coach Jeff Ellis. "She has worked really hard to earn this opportunity at Rollins.
"She is the best shortstop we have ever had here at Polk State. She is one of the best players to ever play here as well as the consummate leader and teammate.
"I am really looking forward to coaching her this spring and to us enjoying a great last year together."
Booth will join Rollins in fall 2016.
