Eagles softball players receive All-Conference recognition

Six student-athletes from Polk State softball have received 2017 All-Suncoast Conference honors.  

Kelsey Armstrong and Jada Wesley earned Suncoast Conference First Team honors. 

Armstrong, a sophomore outfielder from Winter Haven, hit .451 with 36 runs and 21 stolen bases. 

Wesley, a freshman outfielder from Winter Haven, had a .351 batting average with 19 RBI. 

Second Team members include Mikayla Barwig and Mary-Margaret Maggard

A sophomore infielder from Lakeland, Barwig hit .338 with seven home runs and 39 RBI. 

Maggard, a freshman catcher from Lake Wales, posted a .328 batting average with five home runs and 29 RBI. 

Sophomores Ally Baert (Auburndale) and Heather Novis (Lakeland) received Honorable Mention. 

Baert, an infielder, scored 23 runs and drove in 15 while hitting .286. 

An outfielder, Novis hit .261, drove in 10 runs, and scored 13.
