Eagles defeat Andrew College 3-1

Polk State soccer won its second straight game today, beating Andrew College 3-1 in Lakeland. 

The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the second minute when Arianna Elliott scored with an assist from Dominique Walker

The Lady Tigers tied the score with a goal in the 31st minute. 

Polk State broke the tie two minutes later with an Emmalee Phillips goal on an assist by Jordan Gines

In the second half, the Eagles made it 3-1 in the 83rd minute when Laura Knott scored with an assist from Shelby Little

"When you win it's always good," said Head Coach Steve Linamen. "But we definitely can play at a much better pace. We weren't consistent with our play, and we definitely need to do better." 

The Eagles took 14 shots on goal. Goalkeepers Dyaniz Serrano and Maddy Miller combined for two saves. 

Andrew College had two shots on goal and made 11 keeper saves. 

The Eagles (2-0-1) return to action Wednesday against Oxford College of Emory University in Oxford, Ga.
