Polk State soccer earned its second straight shutout today, beating South Georgia State College 2-0 in Douglas, Ga.
It was the fourth consecutive win for the undefeated Eagles.
Emmalee Phillips got the Eagles on the scoreboard with a goal in the 20th minute.
"It feels good to be coming off a two-game road trip with two wins and not conceding any goals, but we still have work to do," said Head Coach Steve Linamen.
"I have to commend the team for finding ways to win, but they are not satisfied until we have a complete game playing to the level we are capable of competing at.
"This is the best start to a season we have had since I took over the program, and this group of talented ladies has the ability to have a fantastic season."
Polk State took 11 shots on goal and made five goalkeeper saves.
South Georgia made four shots on goal and recorded eight keeper saves.
The Eagles (4-0-1) travel to Melbourne, Fla., Monday to face Eastern Florida State College.
