Eagles honored at state volleyball awards banquet

Six Polk State volleyball players received awards tonight at the FCSAA state tournament awards banquet in Gulf Breeze.

Yue Wu was named First Team All Conference and earned a spot on the All State Team. She also received Suncoast Conference Player of the Year and State Player of the Year honors.

Elisabeth Piroli and Dayanna Teixeira also received First Team All Conference recognition.

Zoemy Barreto, Laina Blanton, and Suheily Colon were named Second Team All Conference.

"I am really happy for them," said Head Coach German Del Valle. "They worked so hard to get these awards, and I'm happy to see the state and the conference recognize their work."
