Nicky Pio of Christchurch, New Zealand, has committed to attending Polk State College and playing volleyball in August 2016.

"I picked Polk State because I connected well with the coaches and with the players who contacted me," said Pio.

"The vibe that Head Coach German Del Valle and Assistant Coach Ashley Hass gave made me feel at ease, so I knew that I would feel at home when I'm over there.

"I love the volleyball history of the school, and I think that I fit well into the program. I'm so excited to come to Polk, and I can't wait. "

A graduate of Burnside High School, where she played volleyball, Pio captained the New Zealand under-21 women's team that competed in Thailand in September.

She also played on New Zealand women's teams that played in Tahiti in 2015, Vanuatu in 2014, and the United States in 2013.
